The purpose of the study was to find out the relationship between physical fitness profiles and athletic performance of World Beaters Athletes (WBA) in Tamilnadu. 300 school students, consisting of 150 World Beaters Athletes (WBA) boys and 150 WBA girls, studying in different schools, spotted by Sports Development Authority of Tamilnadu (SDAT) as “World Beaters Athlete” and being given specialized coaching and training in academies formed and managed by SDAT were selected. The age group of the subjects selected was between 11 to 13 years. The physical fitness profiles of arm and shoulder strength, agility, speed, long jump and endurance were measured using standard tests. Athletic performance of the subjects was determined through the norms approved by SDAT. The obtained data were analysed through descriptive statistics and using Pearson Correlation Coefficient for both WBA boys and WBA girls. The results proved that fitness profiles of the WBAs were correlated with the sports performance scores of the WBAs boys. The results presented proved that the sports performance of the WBA boys was significantly correlated with physical fitness variables, endurance, strength, agility and power. Similarly, the WBA girls’ physical fitness profiles, speed, endurance, agility and power with sports performance of WBA girls. It was concluded that physical fitness profiles of WBA of TamilNadu was significantly related with their sports performance of both boys and girls.
