Collection, maintenance and evaluation of germplasm for genetic variability of economically important traits is one of the basic steps for initiating breeding programme for genetic improvement of any crop. Whereas character association will help in simultaneous selection of two or more characters at a time, the present investigation aims to assess the extent of genetic variability and association analysis for yield and yield components in 600 cowpea germplasm comprising indigenous and exotic lines.
