Abstract

Ten maize inbreds and their 45 single-cross hybrid combinations (total 55 genotypes) along with a standard check were grown in a randomized complete block design with three replications in two locations. The phenotypic and genotypic coefficients of correlation were computed for grain yield and its component traits viz., 1000-grain weight, kernel rows per ear, kernels per row, ear length, ear circumference, days to maturity, plant height, showed positive association with 1000-grain weight, plant height and ear height at the phenotypic level. height, ear circumference and kernels per row were contribution of most of the traits was positive and high.
