Forty-one groundnut germplasm accessions with multiple stress resistance were chara<;terized using proteins (hypocotyl and seed) and glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase (GOT) isozyme. GOT and seed proteins showed less variation but differentiated botanical types. Hypocotyl proteins exhibited more variation and identified five genotypes. Isozyme and proteins together revealed a total of 22 electrophoretic phenotypes and differentiated fifteen genotypes. A large number of related germplasm exhibited the same electrophoretic phenotype but morphologically similar mutants could be differentiated.
