One hundred twenty indigenous rice genotypes collected from Jharkhand were evaluated for twelve quality characters to study genetic divergence by employing D2 analysis. The genotypes were grouped into nine diverse clusters. The highest genetic divergence was observed between cluster I and cluster III, whereas cluster IV and VIII were the closest one. Hence, genotypes belonging to cluster I and III can be used as parents for hybridization programme for the development of high yielding rice genotypes.
