Abstract

Unicysticameloblastomasare those cystic lesions that exhibitcharacteristics clinically and radiologically of a cyst from odontogenic originhistologically depictsan ameloblastomatous epithelium which lines part of the cyst cavity, with or without proliferation of luminal & mural tumor. These grow inside the jaw and cause displacement of the bone, teeth and their roots. Sometimes they infiltrate the bone and spread into the soft tissue. Mostly seen in posterior mandible, but it may also arise in the maxilla and the jaws anteriorly. This is one of the rarevariants of the ameloblastoma. We report a case of unicystic ameloblastoma of maxillary region in a male patient of 35 years.
