Motivation of health workers is necessary to generate the organizational commitment towards the patients and the hospital. Therefore the knowledge about what motivates and satisfies them is very essential.
The primary objective of the study was to explore the relationship between Work Motivation and Job Satisfaction among Nurses in the Clinical Settings
The study is conducted through online survey, target being nurses of Government or a private run hospitals. Sample size was 100.
The study shows majority of the study population belonged to age group between 25-30years (55%). Gender-wise distribution showed 48% males and 52% females. Female Nurses were more as compared to males. More than half of the study population (68.3%) were poorly motivated and their job 39% satisfaction level is very poor. Work motivation is highly significantly associated with job satisfaction (p=0.001), (p value is less than 0.005).
There should be an effective Human resource management system for nursing community in every higher level hospital.
