The research is aiming to identify the effect of reading instruction on Skamper's strategy in developing the habits of the mind for the fourth grade students. In order to achieve the goal, the researcher put the zero hypothesis, which states: There is no statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.05) among the average of the students of the experimental group, the average score of the students of the control group who will study according to the usual method in the test habits of the mind, and to verify the application of his experience in the first half of the academic year (2018–2019). The sample consisted of (65) students of the fourth grade in Al-Jawahiri secondary school, they were randomly distributed (33) students in the experimental group and (32) students of the control group. The two groups were rewarded in the following variables: age, IQ, and linguistic ability test.
