Health is not mere absence of disease; it is a sense of well-being. Important to understand health problems of rural residents as they have limited access to health care facilities. The objective was to identify pattern of diseases in order to plan and build correct health interventions.
The research would contribute in building health interventions.
Explorative qualitative design, in depth interviews with 10 private medical doctors practicing in a village.
Hypertensions, diabetes, anaemia, malaria, dengue, malnutrition, worm infestations among children. The study revealed possible reasons of high risk behaviour and lifestyle, water and sanitation issues, lack of knowledge and awareness for the disease pattern in the community.
The findings could be helpful to do surveys the findings of which could be generalized to larger rural community.
Comprehensive health education sessions for different age groups, target oriented interventions collaboration with government health facilities would improve the health status.
