Family involvement in the Intensive Cardiovascular Care Unit (ICCU) is still controversial as it is a room with a high level of care. The policies of each hospital on this matter vary.
The purpose of this study is to explore the experience of the nurses on family involvement in the care of patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) at the ICCU.
This study is descriptive qualitative research with 24 participants (nurses) who have experience working in ICCU at least 1 year.
This study results in finding of two themes: making a work environment crowded and interfering with the nursing activities.
Therefore, it is necessary to prepare a manual of family involvement procedures in the care of ACS patients in ICCU so as not to interrupt the treatment process.
