Abstract

Adolescence is a crucial period in woman's life. Menstruation is an important index of physical maturity, which in turn influences the health of offspring. The adolescent girls of today are the mothers of tomorrow in whose hands lie the future of her family, community and the nation.

To study the knowledge and practice regarding menstruation among adolescent girls

Community based cross-sectional study was done in rural field practice area of Shivangi, Department of Community Medicine, B.L.D.E.A.’s Sri B.M.Patil Medical College, Bijapur.

The study subjecs calculated based on those who have attained menarche. Data were collected by questionnaire methods and analyzed.

Knowledge regarding menstruation among adolescent girls is poor
