Hand washing plays a pivotal role in the containment of various diseases and infections among school going children. With proper knowledge and education children should be encouraged to follow good hand washing practices from an early stage of their life.
School based cross-sectional study
Data were collected using interview questionnaires and hand washing facilities inspection was also done using observation checklist. Data was entered and analyzed by EpiData software version 2.2.2.186 and Stata analysis software.
Study participants had proper knowledge of hand washing and also practiced the same.
Our study revealed that good number of study participants practiced hand washing behavior. Availability and accessibility of water and soap all the time will further achieve good compliance of hand washing practices among school children.
