Abstract

Technological advances are making a mark in the field of human-machine interaction due to limitation of human perceptual system. The focus of this paper is on visual attention, which is an important mechanism of perception, where it rapidly selects the most salient region and thus the most important data about the environment in which the system is working. This paper reviews about the scientific theories and findings, types of visual attention, and also discusses about different computational models and various application of visual attention.
