Culture in the tribes of society is important in the implementation of Family Planning (KB) program, including in Papua Province, Indonesia.
The purpose of this research is to analyze and describe the culture in implementing the policy of Family Planning Program in Jawijaya Regency of Papua Province. This type of research is a qualitative method with ethnography approach.
The results showed that the culture of the Papuan tribes (Dani tribe) holds custom traditionally for generations as a sacred value. The cultural values included customary norms, marriage values, loyalty values, customs of pregnancy, and birth customs. Policies are implemented with the Papuan Human Resources priority system.
Strengthening the capacity of local communities is essential for the implementation of family planning programs
