Electrocardiography (ECG) is a well-established method to diagnose heart related diseases. However, ECG requires appropriate clinical setup and training, which makes it expensive and many of the primary health centres (PHC) in India does not having this facility. Therefore there is need of a low cost, easy to usediagnostic method. Previous studies support that acoustic cardiac signals carries significant information about the condition of heart and can be useful in disease detection. This study proposes use of Phonocardiography (PCG) signal as cost-efficient method for pre-screening of heart anomalies at PHCs and at home. The results show reliable detection of murmurs with 94.91% accuracy and arrhythmia detection and further classification of arrhythmia into bradycardia and tachycardia.
