A study on the national R&D outcomes information trend analysis

Various research results are produced every year through the implementation of national R&D projects. In order to improve the productivity of research, it is necessary to carry out a systematic analysis on the periodical occurrence of research outcomes and to study the future outcomes of research activities and to predict future research trends. The purpose of this study is to analyze the trends of research achievements through the performing of national R&D projects. To do this, we surveyed the status and frequency of research achievements over the past three years, and analyzed the trends of the distribution of each research result by year. The method used for this research is based on the R&D outcomes information system of Korea, which collects and provides the research results obtained through the implementation of the national R&D project. Outcomes analysis was conducted using information on research achievement of the last three years. The research was conducted and presented by analyzing the number of occurrences, the distribution ratio, rate of increase or decrease, the number of detailed items, and the rate of change. In order to carry out future research, it is necessary to predict future research trends through the development of indicators necessary for the analysis of research results of national R&D projects and effective analysis of research results that occur annually, and there is a continuing need for follow-up studies to support efficient research.
