The purpose of this study was to identify predictors of health promotion behavior of chronic renal failure patient caregivers. Data were collected from 129 chronic renal failure patient caregivers. The self-reported questionnaire was distributed to quantify the levels of burden, depression and self-efficacy to assess health promotion behavior. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, t-test, ANOVA and multiple regressions. The most significant predictors of health promotion behavior of chronic renal failure patient caregivers were self-efficacy, hobbies, age and income. These factors explained 56.5% of the variance of health promotion behavior. The results of this study indicate that it is important to increase health promotion behavior of chronic renal failure patient caregivers. It is necessary to develop educational and manageable programs in order to improve self-efficacy for health promotion behavior.
