Abstract

This study identifies the effects of corporate motivation for innovation and innovation activities on innovation performance. For business organizations to create some innovation performance, the motivation for innovation and innovation activities override anything else. In that a persistent global economic crisis has driven businesses to strive for survival mostly by means of innovation, it is crucial to illustrate the motives for corporate innovation activities.

This study verifies the model with Smart PLS 2.0. This study analyzes the data from 135 out of 140 copies collected with an online questionnaire survey conducted for 30 days from August 20th to September 19th, 2017, with 5 copies excluded for insincere responses.

This study surveys R&D researchers and staff working in the field. According to the data analysis, the motivation for innovation exerts positive effects on innovation activities and innovation performance, and the innovation activities have positive effects on the innovation performance, whereas the motivation for innovation does not impact on the innovation performance.

CEO and staff in charge should perceive the importance of the motivation for innovation and innovation activities in compliance with a viable systematic guideline, which should be developed as well.
