The purpose of this study is to investigate the predictors affecting the school violence victimization among adolescents.
Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and logistic regression analysis were conducted for data analysis.
Major results are as follows. First, school violence victimization experience was slightly higher in girls than in boys, and higher in middle school students than in high school students. Second, self-esteem showed a positive correlation with empathy, but a negative correlation with aggression. However, empathy and aggressiveness did not show a significant correlation. Third, logistic regression analysis showed that the age, number of friends, and self-esteem were the factors influencing the victimization of school violence in adolescents. But gender, school level, academic achievement, family form, region, empathy, aggressiveness were not influential.
Proposals for youths to reduce the experience of school violence were presented. And Suggestions for future research were presented.
