Adherence to Self-Care managements among patients with end stage renal disease at habib Ibn-Mudaher in Kerbala City

The purpose of this study was to assess of the commitment of patient with renal failure to self-care, and to find the relationship between the commitment of patient with renal failure to self-care and the demographic variables (Gender, age, educational level, weight, marital status, monthly income.). Methodology: A descriptive designs study was conducted from (1/10/2017) until (1/5/2018) to evaluate the commitment of ESRD patients to self-care management. A non-probability (purposive) sample of (100) patients with renal failure. The samples was selecting according to study criteria who were attending in Habib Ibn-Mudaher center at kerbala city. A self-administered questionnaire was constructed by the researcher’s in the purpose of data collection regarding patient’s adherence with self-care management of patient with renal failure. The study results showed that there was a low level of commitment to self-care managements with renal failure patients. Most of the samples were aged 60 years or older. Most of them were men, mostly of them was married and city dwellers. Majority of patients with hemodialysis was low level educated and most of them have a chronic disease, have no idea or information about nutritional habits. Furthermore, most the patients refuse to participate in regular exercise.
