A sample of 50 patients with lung cancer was selected at the Imam Hussein Center for Oncology. The results of the study showed that there was a low level of commitment to self-care by lung cancer patients. And the most of the samples were with aged group 60 years and older. Most of them were men, mostly married and city dwellers, most of whom were previously smokers. The study recommended the preparation of educational programs on the importance of self-care, and recommended the need to implement another study to verify the obstacles that lead to non-compliance of patient’s self-care.
