Internet addiction among senior undergraduate students at Babylon University

Descriptive analytical study was carried out during the period from 21 of September 2017 to 24 June 2018. The aim of the study is to assess internet addiction among senior undergraduate students at babylon University. A non-probability (sample of quotas) of 150senior students have been equally chosen from the studied colleges (25 student from each college). The data was collected by questionnaire which consisted of two parts, first part consists socio demographic data, and Second part is about internet addiction which contains 20 items to assess the internet addiction levels among students. The finding of the study indicate indicate that addicted students (46.7%) were more than severe addicted students (16%). The study have reported no statistically significant relation between problematic internet use and socio-demographic characteristics of sample (age, gender, family economic status and residency). The study recommended to provide an educational programs for college students about an appropriate ways of using the internet, and proper time of using it and use the internet for study purposes, to increase awareness of students about the excessive and inappropriate using of internet may lead to Internet addiction.
