Effectiveness of an educational program on nurses’ practices concerning nursing management for patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention in Al-Nasiriyah heart center

The purpose of the study is to determine the effectiveness of the educational program in enhancing nurses’ practices related to PCI. A quasi experimental study was carried out at (Al-Nasiriyah heart center) in cardiac medical ward and cardiac care unit (CCU), in the period from 3^rd December 2017 to 24^th April 2018, The program and instruments were constructed by the researcher for the purpose of the study. To achieve the objectives of the study, a purposive (non-probability) sample of (40) nurses was divided in to two groups, study group consisted of (25) nurses exposed to the nursing educational program and control group consisted of (25) nurses were not exposed to the program. The instrument consisted of two major parts was based on the review of literature. The first part was concerned with determination of the demographic characteristics of these nurses through designated sheet which included (7) items, and the second part was an observational tool (checklist) which includes (40) items concern nurses’ practice related to PCI. Reliability of instrument was determined through a pilot study and the instrument validity was determined through a panel of experts.
