Cross sectional analytic study was conducted to identify the risk factors associated with Disc prolapse including a purposive (non-probability) sample of (100) patient divided to two group (50 patient for each group) the first group have disc prolapse and the second don’t have. The two group attending to medical & surgical unit at al-Hussein medical city in Kerbela city during the period from 10/2/2018 to 28/5/2018. The study instrument is designed by the researcher to achieve the early stated objective. Data were collected through an interview by using constructional questionnaire. And the data were analyzed by applying statistical analysis procedures using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23. The study results showed that there was a significant difference to the patient regarding their age, gender, hypertension, DM. Exception was the (Resident, Period of Having Disc Prolapse, Active Smoking, Passive Smoking, and Family Monthly Income) for the study samples; the results showed that there was a non-significant difference. Age and gender of patients are the common non-modifiable risk factors. While weight, smoking, are the common modifiable risk factors.
