Effectiveness of health education program on nurses’ knowledge about acute respiratory tract infections at central teaching hospital of pediatric in Baghdad City

The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of an educational program on nurses’ knowledge concerning nursing management of patients with acute lower respiratory tract infections. The randomized sample consists of a non-probabilistic sample of (32) nurse in the Central Hospital of Pediatrics in the City of Baghdad, who are providing nursing care for children with acute lower respiratory infections, is selected. The sample is comprised of (16) academic nurse; (8) males and (8) females and another (16) Diploma nurse; (8) males and (8) females. The nurse’s questionnaire consists of (51) questions about acute lower respiratory infection. Was determined by a panel of experts. The study shows that there is non-significant different correlations between two variables pretest and post(1)test because the value of the correlation is equal to 0.037 therefore there is exist significant different means between pre-post in Effectiveness of Health Education Program on nurses’ knowledge about Acute Respiratory Tract Infections at Central Teaching Hospital of Pediatric in Baghdad City. The study shows there is non-significant different correlations between two variables (pre and post) test II because the value of the correlation is equal to 0.117 therefore there is exist significant different means between pre-post in Effectiveness of Health Education Program on nurses’ knowledge about Acute Respiratory Tract Infections at Central Teaching Hospital of Pediatric in Baghdad City. But the findings indicated that there was no significant relationship between nurses’ knowledge and age, educational level except gender and years of experience of nurses was significant.
