Assessment of mother’s knowledge toward their pre school children with hypostatic pneumonia in babylon hospital for maternal and child in Babylon city

Abstract

A large number of children suffering from pneumonia fail to reach health facilities well in the appropriate time because their mothers fail to recognize seriousness of their illness. Pneumonia in children under five years of age is still the leading cause of childhood mortality in many developing countries (8). Early recognition of symptoms of pneumonia by mothers and their participation in effective case management of pneumonia may reduce childhood mortality.” The study aims to assess the mother’s knowledge toward their children (3_6) years with Hypostatic Pneumonia in Babylon Hospital for Maternal and Child. Design of the study: descriptive design used to assessment of mother’s knowledge toward preschool children with hypostatic pneumonia. Setting of the study: the study was carried out in babylon hospital for child and maternity during period (15/12/2017)-(15/1/2018) Selection of the sample: purposeful sample of 50 preschool child. Administrative permission: the study was proved by the committee in the college of nursing. Statistical analysis: the descriptive statistical were used in order to analyzed the result of this study.
