Coronary artery diseases (CAD), also known as coronary heart disease(CHD) or heart disease(HD) and ischemic heart disease (IHD). CAD is the most common type of cardiovascular disease (CVD), contributed approximately half of all CVD deaths worldwide. CAD is an important public health problem, among adults with a high morbidity and mortality, and it causes a substantial economic burden to societies. The present study was carried out at Al-nasiriyah Heart Center in Thi-Qar Governorate during the period of 14th of December 2017 to 24th of April 2018. Non-probability (purposive) sample of (40) nurses were selected. Observational checklist instrument is constructed for the purpose of the study. Validity and reliability of the instrument is determined through pilot study. Data are analyzed through the use of SPSS (Statistical package for Social Sciences) version 24 application statistical analysis system application. Descriptive and inferential statistical data analysis approaches are employed.
The study indicated that the practices score of nursing staff was inadequate for both (study and control) group in the pre-test but the study group practices score was increased after giving them the educational program. Therefore there were significant differences between study and control group.
