To assess the risk factors and consequences of the placenta previa. To find out the association between participants age, number of cigarettes smoking, menarche age, age on marriage, age on first pregnancy, interval between the last and the current pregnancy, gestational age, gravida, parity, number of abortion, number of stillbirth and each of risk factors of placenta previa, prenatal complications, intranatal complications, postnatal complications, complications on fetus and complications on newborn. The majority of the study sample was within middle age group (28-36) years, live in urban areas, housewives, low economic status, multi gravida and previous cesarean delivery. There is significant correlation of placenta previa and anemia, urinary tract infections, antepartum hemorrhage, preterm uterine contraction, anxiety, avoidance of sexual intercourse, hospitalization, limitation of maternal movement, blood transfusion and cost effectiveness. The main impact of placenta previa upon newborn were low Apgar score, low birth weight, RDS, admission to nICU.
