Effectiveness of structured teaching program on students’ knowledge about first aid at University of Baghdad

Determine the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on students’ knowledge in baghdad University regarding first aid. This research design was an quasi-experimental study (pre-post test). The study was conducted with students in University of Baghdad (Al-Jadriyah Complex). The subjects were (60) students in the study sample from (3) colleges (College of Engineering, College of Science and College of Political Science), the sample was randomly divided into two groups of (30) students each group. The study group was providing education about first aid to them by the researcher; the group that was didn’t provide teaching to them by the researcher was considered the control group. Results: Show statistically overall main students’knowledge concerning to first aid, pre vs post overall main students’ knowledge for study group show high significant difference between two period (p = 0.00), in related to control group shows no significant difference between pre vs. post (P= 0.097). Conclusions: The structured teaching programme is effective in improving the student’s knowledge concerning first aid in the study group.
