Emotional intelligence (EI) is empirical for the development of interpersonal and professional competence in nurses. It should be recognized that psychiatry nurses are confronted not only by the patients ’emotions but also their own. Working as Nurse Educators, Administrators and Researchers calls for lot of ebbs and flows. Following article highlights research studies on influence of emotional intelligence in every aspect of nursing profession. Emotional intelligence should be more realistically and appropriately integrated into the nursing profession by a model of transformatory learning for nurses and nursing students too.
