To compare the effectiveness of Strain Counterstrain technique(SCS) and Neural tissue Mobilisation(NTM) on pain, disability and Range of Motion(ROM) in patients with Cervicogenic Headache(CGH).
Comparative study with 30 participants having CGH were included into the study from nearby hospitals and clinics. After the ethical clearance was granted, various hospitals and clinics were visited for subjects with CGH. After the selection procedure based on different criteria, Cervical Flexion Rotation Test(CFRT) was measured. The level of Pain and Disability was measured using Northwick Park Neck Pain Questionnaire(NPQ) and Headache Disability Inventory(HDI) respectively. SCS to Group A and NTM to Group B was given and the outcomes were re-evaluated. Conventional treatment was given to both the groups.
SCS group showed statistical significant results (p< 0.05, HDI t=8.82, NPQ t=2.90, Right CFRT t=6.05, Left CFRT t=4.88) as compared to NTM Group to treat patients with CGH.
SCS technique along with conventional treatment appeared to be more effective than neural mobilisation technique to reduce Pain, Disability and to improve ROM in patients with CGH.
