To find the effect of relaxation technique in combination with yoga on quality of life in women after radical mastectomy
30 subjects between the age group of 35 to 65 years of age, clinically diagnosed with depression after radical mastectomy coming to Physiotherapy department of Krishna hospital, Karad were selected for the study. A total no.30 subjects were divided in three groups by selective sampling method. Group A was given relaxation training, Group B was given 30 minutes yoga program and group C was given relaxation training in combination with yoga program. HADS score and quality of life score was taken pre interventional and after 4 weeks post interventional.
The data was statistically analyzed using one-way ANOVA post-test. A decreased in HADS score noted post-interventionally when compared to pre-interventional values and the results were extremely significant in group C as compared to group A and group B (p<0.0001). Quality of life score was increased post-interventional as compared to pre-interventional range of motion and the result was extremely Significant in group C as compared to group A and group B (p<0.0001).
Based on the results of the present study it can be concluded the effect of relaxation technique in combination with yoga on quality of life in women after radical mastectomy improves quality of life in women after radical mastectomy, as there is a noticeable improvement in post-treatment score than pre-treatment score in group C as compared to group A and group B women.
