The aim of study was to evaluate the effect of continuous ultrasound therapy in healing of pressure sores.
A prospective randomized clinical trial.
The study was conducted at Chalmeda Anand Rao Institute of Medical Sciences, Karimnagar, India.
Total 30 patients who had II and III grade pressure sores were randomly assessed two treatment groups. Patients in study group (n=15) received continuous ultrasound therapy (CUS) and control group (n=15) were treated with Saline water along with gauze dressings.
Unpaired ‘t’-test on SPSS 16.0.
Results: The results showed statistically significant improvement in healing of pressure sores after treatment of CUS (p=0.05) and control group (p=0.94).
The study finding shows that continuous ultrasound therapy was significantly improved wound healing compared to control group.
