Myofascial trigger point (MTrPs) are one of the most overlooked and ignored causes of acute and chronic pain and at the same time, constitute one of the most common musculoskeletal pain condition. All muscles can have MTrPs. It's a hyperirritable spot in a taut band of the skeletal muscle that is painful on contraction, stretching and elicits a referral pain distant from the point. Dry needling technique is an effective method for the treatment of MTrPs. It is an efficient technique which is reduced a trigger pain and irritability & low in risk of this treatment, more studies are required. The treatment which is available for trigger points are Cryotherapy/spray and stretch, massage, compression release, modalities-ultrasound, laser etc…dry needling, acupuncture, intramuscular manual therapy etc…This study helps the patient to choose the best available treatment option.
