Abstract

mechanical Neck Pain is very common condition in general population.it still constitutes a major burden on patients in terms of pain, disability, loss of income and on society in terms of health care costs and time of work. A wide variety of tratment protocol for mechanical Neck pain are availabale, However the most effective management remains the arae of Debate.

Aim of the study is to comapre the effectiveness of Neck Stretching and Neck Stabilisation exercises on pain and disability in Non specific Chronic Neck Pain.

30 subjects according to inclusion and exclusion criteria were randomly dividedin to two groups for study, Neck Stretching exercise group and Neck Stabilisation group.

The results were calculatd by simple airthmetic mean and standard deviation formula and disability was calculated using Neck Disability index and Pain byaverage VAS score. Both goups showed almost equal effectiveness butNeck stabilisation ecercises group showed bit improvements in pain and disability as compared to Neck Stretching ecercise group.

The study showed an improvement in non specific chronic neck pain with the intervention of neck stabilization exercises. Thus the experimental hypothesis “Neck stabilization exercises are more effective than stretching exercises on pain and disability in non specific chronic neck pain for the study holds true.
