Total knee replacement (TKR) is the most commonly performed joint replacement surgery for osteoarthritis. Following TKR, patient is recommended to undergo an intensive rehabilitation to restore knee function (strength and mobility) and regain normal daily routines. This case report presented a physiotherapy approach in the early phase of rehabilitation following TKR. The patient presented with knee pain, swelling, muscle weakness and limited range of motion. Her interventions included pain relief, exercise therapy, patient education and home exercise program. The outcome measures used to evaluate her progression included pain visual analogue scale, goniometry, manual muscle testing and the time up and go test. The patient began to show positive improvement at the third physiotherapy.
