A total of 33 subjects were selected suffered with Depression by Geriatric Depression Scale and met the inclusion criteria were included in the study. An informed consent of subjects was taken and 33 subjects were then divided randomly to Group A (Experimental group) and Group B (Control group) through a lottery system, for a four week study. The progressive resistance exercise was given to Group A and All the subjects of group B perform 45–60 minutes of only active range of motion exercises of major joints of both the lower and upper limbs. Experimental group: n=17, Control: n=16. Pre-test, Post-test Experimental. Outcome measures by Pain Measured on Geriatric Depression Scale. And Within Group Analysis by paired “t” Test and Between Group Analysis by unpaired “t” test. The test revealed a statistically significant reduction (p<0.001) of depression in experimental group.
