The Transcranial direct current stimulation method has attested the usefulness of their application in sports. It is approved as a non-pharmacological way to treat depression, anxiety, and insomnia. Nowadays, Athletes use Cranial nerve stimulation to improve their coordination ability, to increase their concentration ability and even to improve the indicators of the body functional condition before sport competitions as well.
Studies were taken from Pubmed, springerlink, science direct, database etc and there is clearly potential for use of transcranial direct current stimulation in affecting motor skills related to sporting performance either by aiding motor or perceptual learning and/or the effectiveness of training in sports.
It is clear that the trans-cranial direct current stimulation can modulate brain activity, and is considered safe within accepted boundaries, it remains to be conclusively determined whether it can improve sports performance at an elite level in respect of muscle control and maximize speed, power or duration is crucial to many sports, as is training and motivation
From previous studies, it can be clearly seen that there is potential for use of transcranial direct current stimulation improve motor skills in sports.
