To establish test-retest reliability and normative values for Indian adults on Modified Jebsen Test of Hand function (MJT) aged between 20-80years of age.
Five hundred fifty-five adults (Two hundred eighty-five men and Two hundred seventy women) of three age groups; 20–50, 51–65, 66–80 years performed the MJT. Sixty participants repeated the test after 48 hours. Intra-class Correlation Coefficient was calculated using Test-retest. The influence of age and gender was analyzed with Two-way ANOVA.
Test-retest reliability of MJT was founded to be high (0.93). There was no significant influence of gender, but significant influence of age on MJT (p<0.05). There was no significant interaction of age with gender (p>0.05).
The MJT is a quick and reliable test to assess the gross hand function. This study provides reference norms based on age and gender for young, middle aged and older Indian adults.
