Developmental milestones are specific skill attainments occurring in a predictable sequence over time, reflecting the interaction of the child's developing neurological system with the environment. This study proposes to analyse socioeconomic status as an important factor influencing the age of attainment of developmental milestones in normal children.
A cross-sectional assessment-based study based on Denver II developmental screening tool and Kuppuswamy scale, was conducted on 64 children in the age group of 6 months to 3 years.
Comparative analysis of developmental milestones in children from high income group versus those from lower income group showed a mild difference in achievement of milestones.
