Abstract

To study the effect of home based constraint induced movement therapy on upper extremity function in stroke patients.

Quasi- Experimental design.

Home based rehabilitation.

10 subjects with right and left hemi paresis were selected by convenient sampling method. After initial assessment, CIMT intervention was given for 2 weeks. Wolf motor function test was used as measuring tool for upper extremity function. Subjects were reassessed after 2 weeks to measure the difference between pre and post test values.

After 2 weeks of intervention improvement in upper extremity was evident from calculated t- value 3.499 at 0.05 level of significance, which was greater than the tabulated value t- value of 2.262. The mean difference was 9.242 which shows significant improvement in upper extremity function.
