Maximum rooting (77.50%) was observed at the chemical concentration of 8000 ppm IBA + 2000 ppm p-HBA +5% sucrose +5% captan. Seedling cuttings planted in spring season and drawn from lower portion of shoots, having higher levels of total phenol, starch, sugar, total carbohydrate, phosphorus and calcium content, peroxidase activity and low N content exhibited better rooting.
