Abstract

In a study involving twenty wheat genotypes belonging to tall, semidwarf and dwarf types and two barley genotypes, it was observed that double gene dwarf wheat genotypes showing higher lodging resistance also had higher peduncle wall thickness and vascular bundle number. Tall wheat and barley genotypes with lower peduncle wall thickness and vascular bundle number were highly susceptible to lodging.
