Abstract

Concentration dependent CCC effect was noted in terms of reduction in plant height with associated increase in branch and leaf number and root biomass in C. roseus (L.) G.Don, Total sugar and free amino acids increased with increasing concentration of CCC especially at 2000 μg/ml. In contrast total alkaloid content was highest at 1000 μg/ml in both leaves and roots. Thus, CCC may be used for increasing alkaloid content in C.roseus.
