Effect of 25% and 50% shade, induced by white fabric, were studied on three clusterbean genotypes (FS-277, Suvidha and Maru guar). Shade increased the plant water status, transpiration rate and levels of chlorophyll, protein and aminoacids. The activities of NR, GDH and GS increased at 25% shade but activity of GOG AT decreased with increasing shade. The seed yield at 25% shade increased in all three genotypes essentially due to increase in pod number and seed number per plant. Amongst three genotypes studied, Suvidha was benefitted most due to shade.
