Field experiment was conducted on five genotypes of oilseed brassicae to study the differences in osmotic adjustment in leaves and siliquae. In general, the osmotic adjustment was two folds higher in siliquae than in leaves. The measurements of osmotic adjustment in leaves could be used as effective technique for screening the genotypes of oilseed brassicae for drought tolerance as it was easy, quick and involved the sampling of vegXtive plant parts.
