Abstract

The experiment was conducted with artificially developed saline and sodic soils to study the effect of salinity and sodicity on leaf nutrient status of bael leaves. Marked reduction in the contents of leaf nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and calcium were observed in response to increase in salinity and sodicity levels. Salinity caused significant increase in leaf magnesium status. While sodicity showed the reverse trend. Leaf sodium was present in toxic quntities both in saline and sodic soil.
