Abstract

Eight rice genotypes belonging to deep water, water logged, medium land and upland situations were taken for investigation of their response towards simulated moisture stress. It was observed that genotypes Janki, BR-8, SBR- 313-41-41 and Rasi were tolerant to moisture stress at early seeding stage as compared to TCA-177, Katarni, Radha and IR- 36. Genotypes Janki, BR-8, SBR-313-41-41 and Rasi (tolerant types have higher values for germination, total sugar, protein content, total free amino acid and higher peroxidase activity under moisture stress condition than TCA-177, Katarni, Radha and IR-36 (susceptible types).
