Relation of Penicillin Induced Growth of Wheat Coleoptiles with the Metabolism of Indole Acetic Acid

Effect of penicillin on growth elongation of wheat coleoptile was studied. The application of penicillin stimulated the growth of wheat coleoptile which was comparable to GA but less effective than IAA. The growth promoting effect of penicillin thus appears to be more related to GA and Kinetin and not IAA.
