Abstract

NaCl salinity decreased the accumulation of starch, sugar contents and the activity of α-amylase, whereas triadimefon mitigated the adverse effect of salt stress and increased starch and sugar contents with concomitant decrease in α-amylase activity in salt stressed seedlings. NaCl salinity alone and in combination with low (3 mg litre−1) or higher (6 mg litre−1) concentrations of triadimefon decreased the β-amylase activity in root and cotyledon, but it increased in the hypocotyl.
